THE PARTY Guests packed the patio of Theatre Aspen on a lovely summer evening to celebrate the opening night of Mamma Mia with an official kickoff party. Serving as the 33rd season and the ninth year under Executive Artistic Director Paige Price, Mamma Mia is the first of four performances in its regular season. White wooden chairs filled the patio adjacent to the Roaring Fork River; whimsical flower decorations and elegant white pillars were strategically placed throughout the venue evoking a Greek Islands theme. Artistically placed landscape rocks also added to the overall ambience for the summer rendezvous.
THE GUESTS Beverle and Marc Ostrofsky, Barbara and Franklin Carson, Melinda and Jeff Hildebrand, Katherine and Dane Chapin, and May Selby.
THE HIGHLIGHTS The mountains stood majestically in the background as the river splashed steadily and guests swapped stories of excitement about the upcoming season. The sold-out party was made possible by Jimmy’s Bistro, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Aspen, Local Spirits, the Haisfields, and Tracy and Bubba Eggleston. Signature drinks included Disco Lemonade by Tito’s and the signature Marble-rita by Marble Distilling Company. Delicious bites included chicken satay with peanut sauce, heirloom tomato and mozzarella skewers, and mahimahi ceviche with homemade tortilla chips. Scrumptious brownie desserts and Champagne were provided during intermission. –Photos by Mike Lyons
