Top Five Offseason Specials

the Editors | November 9, 2016 | Food & Drink Best of The Best Eat

It's no secret that Aspen's population dwindles in the offseason. And for those in the know, it's also when restaurants lower their prices and offer menu specials unlike any place else.

1. Jimmy's

While the Bodega will be closing soon, Jimmy's upstairs restaurant and bar will stay open just a bit longer, until April 29. The day before close, Saturday April 28, stop in to indulge in 25 percent off the entire menu. 205 S. Mill St., 970.925.6020,

2. Meat & Cheese

Who doesn’t love a 15 percent locals discount? The qualification for "local" now extends to Denver residents. Check out the discount on all restaurant and farm shop purchases, ending on May 24. Open 10am-9pm, 7 days a week. 319 E. Hopkins Ave., 970.710.7120,

3. Mezzaluna

Mezzaluna Aspen will be open for the entirety of the offseason (closed on Sundays). On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays they will offer a two for one entree special. For the remainder of the week, dine well with a $35 three-course prefix—your choice of soup, salad, or appetizer; pizza or pasta; and dessert. Pair with a bottle of wine for 25 percent off, all six days. Lastly, there is always the opportunity for a $12 pizza or pasta special and a bar menu from 5:30pm-close. 624 E. Cooper Ave., 970.925.5258,

4. Rustique

While they will remain open for the entirety of the offseason, they are closed on Sunday and Monday. Keep an eye out in the papers for their weekly changing specials. This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, stop in for 30 percent off food and 20 percent off bottled wines. As always, their generous bar menu and happy hour from 4:30-6pm makes for a perfect way to spend the lazy months before summer. 216 Monarch St., 970.920.9555,

5. Silver City

Aspen newest underground bar, and only mountain saloon, will serve up $6 paninis throughout offseason and offer happy hour specials from 5-6pm. Every Wednesday will celebrate ladies night with half off wine, beer and cocktails. 210 S. Galena St., 970.429.8252,
