This annual eight-day adaptive snowboard and ski recreation program hosts over 250 participants, including children, their medical team, instructors and volunteers. Children living with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses are taken to the slopes and given all the tools they need to ski or ride. They also enjoy dance parties, music lessons, movie nights, swimming, campfires, snowmobiling, yoga, crafts and games.
The goal of the program is to empower each child and give them a sense of hope by helping them accomplish activities on the mountain they never thought possible. And of course, fun is a huge factor! shiningstarsfoundation.org
