Luxury eyewear brand Oliver Peoples is the latest international label to set its sights on Aspen. The 693-square-foot space looks to celebrate its mountainous surroundings via oversize windows and warm touches of oakwood, waxed dark metal and concrete throughout. “Paying homage to après-ski culture, we wanted to create a space where clients could socialize and shop comfortably after a day on the slopes,” says Oliver Peoples Creative Director Giampiero Tagliaferri. The store carries both optical and sunglasses for men and women, with two custom colorways of the brand’s signature Gregory Peck frame specifically created for the Aspen location. The style, based on the frames the actor wore in To Kill a Mockingbird, have been reimagined with gold mirrored lenses and layered acetate frames, one in red, white and blue; and the other in earth tones. “The local community has a great sense of style and a need for luxury and high-quality eyewear,” says Tagliaferr. “We intend for the store not just to be a place to shop for eyewear but a community hub of style, design and culture.” 555 E.
