Krug Champagne Dinner

| July 12, 2018 | Parties

When actor and singer Darren Criss performed at the home of Amy and John Phelan for a Krug Champagne-hosted party in July, it was apropos there was bubbly for a toast; that morning he had received an Emmy nomination for his role as Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace. Criss crooned a number of melodies on the outdoor patio, playing piano and guitar while guests sipped long-stemmed glasses of Krug Grande Cuvee 160th Edition. They then sat at a long dinner table set in maroon and gold, where Matsuhisa served a delicately prepared sashimi trio, Chilean sea bass and wagyu beef, each exquisitely paired with more Champagne. Later in the evening, guests moved from the foyer to the mirror-floored living room, where they nibbled on passed desserts while Criss gave a final performance alongside a string quartet. In September, he won the Emmy—cue the Krug. — Muriel Perez
