Gravity Haus Aspen is the latest addition to the GH portfolio of adventure-minded, community-focused mountain clubs.
Gravity Haus Aspen recently finished a significant renovation that balanced history and innovative design
Gravity Haus, a reimagined membership club centered around community, outdoor adventure and the mountain lifestyle, fully opened its latest outpost in Aspen this past December. Gravity Haus Aspen has been opening in phases, starting with the launch of Unravel Coffee in 2022.
The Boat Tow is a tribute to Aspen’s vintage ski culture.
The 18,000-square-foot members’ social club space—staged inside the Wheeler Square building in spaces formerly occupied by Eric’s Bar, Su Casa, Aspen Billiards and The Cigar Bar—includes a private lounge for handcrafted cocktails and members-only events; a fitness and wellness center featuring state-of-the-art equipment, fitness classes, a cold plunge and sauna; private gear lockers (for an additional fee); and gear rentals through Ski Butlers. The club also has coworking spaces, a hallmark of the Gravity Haus brand, as well as private offices and conference rooms that overlook Wagner Park and Ajax Mountain.
Since opening in Aspen, Unravel Coffee has become a popular gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Baristas whip up housemade matcha and lattes with coffee beans sourced from Ethiopian farmers.
In June 2023, Gravity Haus Aspen debuted Le Bateau, a French fine-dining restaurant. But with a pricey menu and Michelin-starred chef, it didn’t resonate with locals. Six months later, GH relaunched its culinary concept with The Boat Tow, a nostalgic nod to Aspen’s first mechanized ski lift, which was powered by a Model A car engine in 1937. Open to the public, The Boat Tow features an approachable menu with comfort food like beef short ribs with Yukon gold potato puree, maple roasted carrots and truffle porcini glaze. The atmosphere leans into GH’s signature “après-all-day” vibe.
The members lounge plays hosts to community and member-only events
Creating community and connecting with locals is especially important in Aspen, as it’s the only Gravity Haus mountain property without a hotel component. The club hosts events like Stranahan’s Whiskey tastings, yoga sessions, live music and DJ dance parties. A membership unlocks access to amenities and events in Aspen as well as access to the complete Gravity Haus network, including member rates at properties in iconic mountain destinations.
The first Gravity Haus opened in Breckenridge in 2019, and the company has since rolled out properties in Steamboat Springs, Winter Park, Vail and Denver, as well as Truckee-Tahoe, California, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Moab, Utah—with more properties on the horizon.
