Making his Aspen debut, Texas artist Tom Hoitsma brings his large scale works to Gallery 1949 this August. Energetic strokes and a vibrant color palette dominate this new series, which Hoitsma calls “Deconstructed Landscapes.” The sizes of the works—heavily layered paint combined with an almost sculptural quality on over-sized 4-inch deep canvases—create a tactile, dynamic visual experience, transforming the air in the room.
