The City of Aspen and Aspen Skiing Company are partnering to offer a day of uphilling at Buttermilk Mountain, followed by a full moon dinner at Cliffhouse. This event will happen during regular operating hours and will have designated uphill routes and aid stations.
“Buttermilk continues to be the uphill universe for the Roaring Fork Valley and we welcome anyone that loves ascending our hill,” says Buttermilk mountain manager, Susan Cross. “The City of Aspen and the Forest Service have embraced our uphill initiatives and we’ve create a community that is bonded through climbing. While uphilling is currently on the rise, our community has a long history of pre-and post-season turns, backcountry tours, ski mountaineering and events based on climbing. We are excited the City of Aspen has partnered with us for the second year of the Buttermilk Mountain Uphill Ascent.”
