Aspen Snow Ball returns to town for a second year of glamorous giving.
Last year, Diana Ross performed at Aspen Snow Ball.
“I wanted to bring a New York scale formal affair to Aspen,” says film producer and Children’s Oncology Support Fund founder Thomas Pierce of the Aspen Snow Ball, which will come to the St. Regis for the second year Feb. 3. Last year’s event featured a performance by Diana Ross and raised more than $2.5 million for Pediatric Cancer Research. This year brings even more philanthropic-focused glamour to town with four days of official events, including a kick-off party at ASPENX Mountain Club, an après DJ set in the St. Regis courtyard, a benefactor Friday dinner at Snow Lodge, and the gala and afterparty capping the festivities off in the St. Regis ballroom on Saturday.
Saturday’s main event takes on a whimsical “Through The Looking Glass” theme. “The depiction will be inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, with an ethereal forestry take on the classic story,” says Pierce. “The immersive event will transport guests into a fantastical realm filled with peculiar characters, vibrant colors and mesmerizing visuals. Think oversized mushrooms, twisted trees, the Queen of Heart’s castle and lighting effects to create an ethereal atmosphere.”
Grammy-award winner Nigel Rodgers & Chic is one of the evening’s headliners. Balmain will participate as one of the presenting sponsors. Aspen local Tom Lewis will be honored with the Community Leader Award for his work supporting children’s organizations, including Shining Stars Colorado. More events and surprise guests are yet to be announced. Proceeds from the evening go toward the Children’s Hospital of Colorado, specifically funding the institution’s Art & Music Therapy programs for children battling cancer. “Art & Music Therapy programs play a critical role in a child’s healing process,” he says. “Proceeds from this fundraiser will grant access to programs that are donor dependent and pain points for funding—a critical and necessary activity for children battling cancer.” Nothing says Aspen quite like a night of glitz and glamour paired with the sentiment of giving back. aspensnowball.com
