First-class semiprivate jet travel connecting Los Angeles to Aspen has arrived—meaning air travel connecting the West Coast to the Roaring Fork Valley is now seamless. Welcome, Aero (aero.com), founded by Uber’s Garrett Camp and navigating the friendly skies under CEO Uma Subramanian’s leadership. The first leg took its inaugural flight in February, with a direct route from the Van Nuys tarmac to the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport.
Launching during the pandemic served well for Aero, as the airline went to great lengths to ensure strict COVID-19 health and safety measures—offering contactless check-in and at-home concierge testing services preflight. Aero also offers a personal concierge service to ensure a passenger’s every need. These flourishes include a passenger’s favorite cocktail awaiting his or her arrival on-board, plus a car and driver waiting on the tarmac upon landing.
With plush first-class seating and only 16 seats aboard—reduced from the plane’s original 48 seats to ensure social distancing—Aero’s Embraer ERJ135 features handstitched Italian leather seats and suede walls, complete with a custom sound system. It’s a true luxury experience from takeoff to landing.
