For Led Zeppelin fans, Mr. Jimmy is a must-see movie during Aspen Mountain Film Festival.
The end-of-summer film festival at the Wheeler Opera House is now Aspen’s own. Formerly MountainFilm in Aspen and inspired by a similar festival in Telluride, the five-day Aspen Mountain Film Festival is produced by the Wheeler staff entirely in-house. That means more curated screenings specifically for a local audience. For example, Mr. Jimmy tells the story of Jimmy Page-obsessed impersonator Akio Sakurai, a Japanese man who moves to Los Angeles to essentially inhabit Page and spread Led Zeppelin’s music. In conjunction with the film’s Thursday evening screening, Mr. Jimmy himself will perform live at Belly Up Aspen Aug. 25. Passes from $60, Aug. 21-25, Wheeler Opera House
