Studt’s Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze
If you’re going for a traditional fall, look no further than Studt’s Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze. Open for the entire month of October, this one-stop-shop is fun for the whole family. Sure, nothing will get you into the fall spirit more than the pumpkin patch and corn maze—but Studt’s doesn’t stop there. Choose between a hay mountain, petting zoo, zip lines, hayrides and more. Open Tuesday through Sunday, tickets available online, 21 1/2 Road north of Hwy 6&50.
Silverthorne’s favorite family-friendly Halloween event is back with the return of Pumpkin Fest on October 9. Featuring a pumpkin patch with over 2,800 pumpkins, local catering, crafts, a pumpkin painting station and more, Pumpkin Fest is sure to be one of the season’s largest events.
Stop by the Basalt Regional Library October 28th for some Halloween favorites. Kicking off the night is the original 1931 Frankenstein film starring Boris Karloff, then Mel Brook’s comedy film Young Frankenstein and last, but certainly not least, is the Library’s Frankenstein October event series inspired by Mary Shelley's science fiction novel Frankenstein. Spooky treats are provided, but make sure not to forget your pillows and blankets.
Anderson Ranch Arts Center and Basalt Library have teamed up together to celebrate the lives of loved ones with their Day of the Dead Art celebration. Attendees will create their own colorful mixed-media altars, using wood, paper and tissue paper, concluding with a celebratory exhibition and information about the tradition’s roots.
Leave the kids at home for KDNK community radio’s annual adults-only halloween party and benefit. Games, food, drinks and a costume contest are on the agenda, all set to KDNK’s curated music video mixtape.
Get into the spooky spirit of Halloween with music concerts at the Carbondale Library on October 25 and the Glenwood Springs Library on October 29. Be transported with music to the earliest notes of horror, through iconic film music classics and modern day tunes.
If walls could talk, Hotel Jerome would be sure to have a ghost story or two. With a history in Aspen dating back to 1889, the hotel is the perfect spot to relax, dine, drink and (if you’re lucky) see some of the hotel’s infamous otherworldly residents.
Unsure about a ghost tour? Check out the Aspen Historical Society’s variety of walking tours, covering everything from Aspen’s roots to the local cemetery (and the lives of those buried there).
