An Artful Affair

The Aspen Art Museum—in conjunction with title sponsor Moncler, presenting sponsor Phillips de Pury & Company, and supporting sponsors Moët & Chandon Champagne and Aspen Magazine—continued its tradition of fashioning a winning winter benefit with the Moncler FREESTYLE 2012. Held Dec. 28 at The St. Regis Aspen Resort, the season’s headlining soiree—which presented “fashion as fine art” to support the museum’s celebrated collection of contemporary art, as well as its exhibitions and educational programs—featured a special performance by New Yorker Kalup Linzy and a rousing call to auction, presided over by Phillips’ charity auctioneer, C.K. Swett. The live event saw a host of luxury items, including travel packages and one-of-a-kind items up for bid, like a pair of tickets to this year’s Emmy Awards and Governors Ball. Moncler supplied more dazzle with a stunning fashion installation adorning the après-ski gala, while guests enjoyed cascades of Champagne and top-shelf sips. Also in the mix: plenty of quality caviar! Elegance is truly an art. Photos by Marysue Bonetti
