Kenichi Snowmass
Kenichi, a favorite Aspen restaurant that’s been serving world-class sushi and pan-Asian cuisine for nearly three decades in Aspen, has opened another location in Snowmass Village. “Kenichi has been a valley staple for nearly three decades, consistently providing quality food to a loyal clientele. We think it’s the ideal fit,” says Andy Gunion, Roaring Fork Valley managing partner for East West Partners. “We have a great variety in cuisine already, but the arrival of Kenichi will really help us elevate our dining options even more, especially for dinner.” Insider tip: Order the Pineapple Express roll with tempura asparagus and pineapple, topped with avocado, serrano and honey yuzu. 110 Carriage Way, #3101, Snowmass Village
Aurum Food & Wine
Aurum arrived in Snowmass Base Village this winter, bringing sophisticated slopeside dining to the ski scene. Chef de cuisine Allan Whitehouse has conjured up an incredible menu complete with creative dishes like Latin street tacos, prime beef tartare and Rocky Mountain trout. “We’ve been looking to open a location in the Roaring Fork Valley for a while, and after seeing the amazing work East West Partners has done with Snowmass Base Village, we knew this space was the perfect fit,” says Phillips Armstrong, founder of Destination Hospitality Restaurant Group. From crafty cocktails to fine wines, Aurum is the ideal après-ski spot. 110 Carriage Way, Snowmass Village
Mawa’s Kitchen
Sporting a brand-new look and vibe, Mawa McQueen teamed up with interior designer Barbara Glass to revamp Mawa’s Kitchen. “I have always wanted a beautiful and colorful place to reflect who I am,” says McQueen. “Barbara presented me with ideas that capture my personality and who I am as a chef and an individual.” So they drummed up a dream space, reflecting McQueen’s personality and culinary offerings. With a slightly updated menu featuring healthy and hearty dishes, the space is inviting, warm and modern. Glass used key design elements such as Schumacher wallpaper behind the bar and in the back dining room, Galbraith & Paul wallpaper in the entryway and banquettes by Jamie Stern. 305 Aspen Airport Business Center, Ste.
